PH fuel supply good for 47 days — DOE

The country's fuel supply is expected to last for about 47 days, the Department of Energy (DOE) said on Monday.

As of August 21, the DOE said the estimated supply days for petroleum products were:

• Gasoline: 44.39 days
• Diesel: 47.66 days
• Kerosene: 121.85 days
• Jet fuel: 775.57 days
• Fuel oil: 54.33 days
• LPG: 34.49 days

DOE Undersecretary Alessandro Sales assured the public that fuel supply would remain stable amid tensions in the Middle East.

"So the supply chain has already adjusted. All countries in the Middle East are already looking for alternate routes to ship out products," he said in a press briefing.

"It looks like the physical supply is stable despite the continuing geopolitical risks," he added.

However, Sales said fuel prices are expected to remain elevated due to the situation in the Middle East.

"The pricing will remain at elevated levels to still reflect the situation in the Middle East," he said.

Fuel companies will implement another round of pump price hikes starting Tuesday, August 25.

Gasoline prices will increase by P1.08 per liter, while diesel prices will rise by P2.31 per liter. Kerosene prices will also go up by P0.95 per liter. — MCG, GMA News
