Is this just fantasy? Some motorists show discipline on EDSA

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) EDSA traffic manager Bong Nebrija on Thursday posted a photo on Facebook showing something short of a miracle: the discipline of some motorists while traversing a portion of EDSA.

In the posted photo, both private vehicles and public transport vehicles could be seen staying on their respective lanes, with buses neatly lined up on the outermost lane and and private cars and motorcycles smoothly moving along the inner lanes.

Nebrija said that bringing back discipline among motorists plying EDSA could be a good start in solving the traffic woes of the busy major thoroughfare.

“We never promised a miracle on EDSA, for me just to bring back the discipline that is good enough,” Nebrija captioned the photo.

“Winning the small battles will eventually lead to winning the war,” he wrote, ending the caption with "#NewEDSA."

On Tuesday, the MMDA declared EDSA as a traffic discipline zone or self-discipline zone for motorists. — Joviland Rita/MDM, GMA News
