Forbes Who’s Who: The Filipino billionaires of 2016

SM Investments Corp.'s founder, chair, and CEO Henry Sy Sr. is still on top of the list of richest Filipinos. The Sy family patriarch is up two ranks, leaping to 71st from 73rd in 2015.

Ten other Filipino billionaires are listed in Forbes' list of The World's Billionaires, but there are no new names on the list. Only one of them is female, Susan Co, and she shares the slot with her husband Lucio.

Nine of the eleven are of Chinese descent and nine of them also identify as self-made, citing hard work and determination as their initial capital.
