Grab customers disappointed over refund

Some Grab customers on Tuesday expressed disappointment with the refund given by Grab Philippines to customers due to overcharging, according to a Tuesday report by Saleema Refran on 24 Oras.

On December 18, the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) ordered Grab to refund P14.15 million, on top of the P5.05 million refund earlier announced.

"Medyo disappointed ako kasi P34 lang yung natanggap ko'ng refund, eh every day naman ako nag gra-grab," said Grab user Tap Atienza.

Jessica Alina, another Grab user, also shared her dismay over her P8 refund.

"Walang mararating actually si P8 kasi isang ride nga ng jeep kulang pa," Alina said.

According to Grab Philippines, users who booked grab cars in Manila from February to August this year were entitled to a refund.

Grab users will be given P1 for every P1,200 total fare from February 10 to May 100 while P1 will also be given for every P450 total fare from May 11 to August 10.

Despite complaints on the refund, the PCC approved the computation.

The refund will head straight to the grab wallet in the application.

However, users will need to undergo the 'know your customer' process of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

To avail of the refund, customers need to open the Grab app and fill up the information required such as the customer's name, birthday, and identification card.

Meanwhile, the refund may be used until December 2022. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BAP, GMA News
