Brunei donates 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Philippines

The Philippines on Wednesday welcomed 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by Brunei.

The fresh batch of COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 past 2 p.m.

Present during the arrival were National Task Force Against COVID-19 special adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa and Brunei Ambassador Johariah Wahab, as well as officials from the foreign affairs and health departments.

Herbosa said the shipment was just the initial donation from Brunei.

“Now we have 92.5 million doses delivered to the Philippines. We now have about 52 million [doses] that have been deployed, 32% are already fully vaccinated of our population. That is about 24 million Filipinos,” he said. — VBL, GMA News
