MMDA's Yves Gonzalez not quite going away, staying as consultant

While he may be moving to greener pastures, outgoing Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic discipline head Yves Gonzalez's presence may still be felt at the agency.

 

Gonzalez, in a post on his Twitter account Wednesday night, said he is "staying on" as a consultant at the MMDA to ensure the continuation of the "good things we've started."

 

"Thank you everyone for your words of support. I’m staying on as consultant with MMDA, to make sure the good things we’ve started continue," he said. 

Gonzalez, an app developer, earlier said he is getting married and will be joining a private company.

 

He had boosted the MMDA's presence in cyberspace, interacting with netizens via Twitter.

 

Upon his resignation, retired Gen. Francisco Manalo is to act as officer-in-charge of the MMDA's Traffic Discipline Office.

As one of just a handful of people in government who are open advocates of new technology and social media, Gonzalez, a software developer and erstwhile matinee idol, is a local pioneer in the quirky uses of Twitter.
