Slain advertising executive's car found in Las Piñas – Roxas

The vehicle of slain advertising manager Kristelle "Kae" Davantes has been recovered, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said Sunday.

In posts on his Twitter account, Roxas said:

Also, Roxas said "SOCO teams now processing vehicle & relatives now identifying personal items found within. RD, NCRPO & members of SITG already at the scene."

Las Piñas City police chief Senior Superintendent Adolfo Samala told GMA News Online the vehicle was recovered early Sunday after residents reported a car alarm blaring continuously.

"May attempt na sunugin ang sasakyan," he said. "Sunog ang glove compartment."

He added that the vehicle was not immediately identified as Devantes' as its registry plate was missing.

"Wala nang plaka, natukoy nalang namin gamit 'yung conduction sticker sa windshield sa harap," Samala said.

He added that the seats have also been removed.

For his part, PNP spokesperson Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac said relatives are now identifying the personal items recovered from the Toyota Altis with registry plate PIM 966.

He added that Secretary Roxas "assures Kae's family, relatives, and friends that there will be no let up in the investigation of this case."

Meanwhile, PNP's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Police Senior Superintendent Robert Fajardo confirmed the attempt to burn the vehicle, according to a report on "Balitanghali."

"Actually, used clothings, na sa tingin namin, binuhusan ng gasolina para i-attempt sunugin," he said. "Kumbaga i-tamper ang evidence."

The report said family members of Davantes arrived at the scene and confirmed the vehicle belonged to Kristelle.

"Confirmed through conduction sticker na 'yan nga," Peddy Devantes, father of Kristelle said. "At saka 'yung ilang gasgas sa gilid."

On Thursday last week, Metro Manila police had opened mobile phone hotlines to handle leads on the killing of an advertising manager who disappeared in southern Metro Manila and was found dead in Cavite last weekend.

"Anyone who (has) important details regarding the case kindly contact our hotline," it said on its Twitter account.

The PNP used the hashtag #JusticeforKae.

Last Wednesday, Metro Manila police head Chief Superintendent Marcelo Garbo Jr. said President Benigno Aquino ordered his unit to solve the killing of Davantes.
