Walang Pasok: San Juan City suspends preschool classes due to habagat rain

Anticipating heavy rain from the southwest monsoon, San Juan City on Wednesday suspended classes at the preschool level.

In a post on its Facebook page, the city government said the suspension covers both private and public schools.

"Due to expected moderate to heavy rainfall brought about by SOUTHWEST MONSOON (Habagat), classes in PRE-SCHOOL both private and public schools of San Juan City are suspended today, 23 July, 2014. Please be guided accordingly," it said.

Earlier Wednesday, Typhoon Henry (Matmo) weakened into a tropical storm as it exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility, days after enhancing the southwest monsoon.

The threat of heavy monsoon rain had prompted many local government in southern Luzon to suspend classes earlier this week. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
