Ayala Bridge closed; motorists advised to take alternate routes

Motorists going to and from Manila were advised to take alternate routes as the Ayala Bridge was closed for additional repairs, a report on Unang Balita on Monday said.

The bridge was closed at 1 p.m. on Sunday and will be opened on Thursday, GMA News' Hadji Rieta reported.

Motorists may take the following alternate routes:

Going southbound toward Otis or Pres. Quirino Avenue:
  • From Magsaysay Blvd., Legarda St. and Lacson Ave., use Nagtahan or Mabini Bridge, turn right at M. Guanzon St., go straight toward UN Avenue and onward to destination.
  • From P. Casal St., turn right on Carlos Palanca Road going to McArthur Bridge and onward to destination.

Going northbound:
  • From Romualdez St., turn left on Ayala Blvdl, right on Taft Ave., and straight to Quezon or Jones Bridge onward to destination.

The bridge was closed from March to July this year for repairs.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada earlier appealed to motorists to bear with the inconvenience since the bridge needed rehabilitation.

Motorists, meanwhile, on Monday complained about the late notice given regarding the bridge closure.
