3-yr-old girl stabbed dead by own mother in Navotas

A three-year-old girl died after being repeatedly stabbed by her own mother inside their home in Navotas City.

The child identified as Alexa Rain Aviso died due to seven stab wounds in different parts of her body.

The child's mother -- 26-year-old Jin Paula Pelayo, a resident of KCC Venterdeck, Barangay Kapitbahayan -- has been arrested by the police.

The victim's grandfather, Rolando Aguyam, told the police that as he was entering their home, the suspect told him that she had stabbed her own daughter.

Aguyam said he rushed to the bloodied child and brought her to the hospital, but doctors failed to revive her.

The child was declared dead at around 2 a.m. Friday.

The mother, who had admitted that she is a drug addict, is currently detained at the Navotas City Police Office. She is facing a case of parricide. —ALG, GMA News
