Police hunt down Army reservist suspect in Quiapo road rage shooting

Police have identified and are seeking the suspect in the shooting of gaming assistant Mark Vincent Garalde in Quiapo, Manila, GMA News' Chino Gaston reported on Balitanghali on Wednesday.

Army reservist Vhon Tanto, 39, was identified by police and barangay officials as the man who shot Garalde on Monday night in Brgy. 385.

Barangay officials identified Tanto and his red Hyundai Eon and said he has repeatedly defied barangay clearing operations against illegally-parked vehicles.

Police consider Tanto armed and dangerous and are working to revoke his gun license.

Sr. Insp. Rommel Anicete, Manila Police District Homicide Chief, called on Tanto to connect with police as his current status may warrant a violent confrontation with operatives tasked to search for him.

Tanto will face murder charges upon his surrender or arrest.

Police also explained that persons were wrongly accosted in relation to the incident after a witness identified the conduction plate number of Tanto's getaway vehicle as MO3746 instead of MO3745. —Rie Takumi/KG, GMA News
