Cops kill 3 drug suspects in Caloocan City

Police killed three drug suspects in separate operations in a barangay in Caloocan City on Sunday night.

Chief Inspector Ronald Cayago, Police Community Precinct 3 commander, identified the slain suspects as Arturo Padua Jr., Renz Quintia and Arnold Petilla.

Cayago said Padua was killed by their team in a raid at his house in Barangay Bagong Silang.

He said Padua fired at the policemen who were entering his house. He said three to four companions of the suspect took off.

“Noong pagpasok pa lang namin, marami nang tumakas. Si Padua na lang ang inabot namin, pinaputukan kami,” the policeman claimed.

He said they recovered an improvised gun and two sachets of suspected shabu from Padua.

Quintia and Petilla were also killed by Cayago's team in a separate operation.

He said that after the raid at Padua's home, barangay officials led them to the hiding place of the two suspects.

The policeman said Quintia and Petilla are known drug pushers and holdup men.

"Kinakatakutan sila sa lugar. Actually maraming na-holdap na na ayaw mag-file ng formal complaint kasi natatakot," he claimed.

Quintia's girlfriend, meanwhile, claimed that the suspect was just having a drinking session with his friends when the policemen arrived.

“Nandun lang nag-iinom tapos sasabihin nila holdaper? San ba nangholdap yun? Dapat hindi ganun!" she said.

"Nagulat pa nga sila 'nung sinabi ko Renz pangalan 'nun. Nagulat sila, bakit sila magugulat? Kasi 'di nila kilala yung tao ginanun nila," she added.

Cayago said they seized another improvised gun, a .22 revolver and two sachets of shabu from Quintia and Petilla. —report from Victoria Tulad/Akari Nakano/ALG/KVD, GMA News
