Ignoring officials, devotees bring babies, small kids to Traslacion

Some devotees ignored the instruction of the police and event organizers not to bring children to the Traslacion, as kids and even infants were seen around Quiapo Church during masses on Wednesday.

One baby lay in a stroller in the middle of a packed crowd outside the church while a couple of the adults with the child listened to the sermon.

Other small children could be seen being carried by adults or riding on their shoulders.

The police had repeatedly urged Black Nazarene participants not to bring children to the festivities due to safety risks.

The Manila Police District has recorded more than 800,000 devotees who attended the masses at Quiapo Church as of 4 p.m. Wednesday. — BM, GMA News
