Two suspected terrorists were arrested by police in Manila over the holidays last month, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Guillermo Eleazar confirmed on Friday.

According to a report on Super Radyo dzBB's Glen Juego, police arrested a suspect identified as Abu Nas in Binondo last December 20.

The NCRPO said Nas is a "most wanted" member of the Abu Sayyaf group and is linked to the kidnapping of 15 workers of the Golden Harvest Plantation in Lantawan, Basilan in 2011.

A few days later on Christmas Day, police nabbed Jeran Aba alias  "Abu Sinan" who was carrying a pistol and a grenade.

According to the NCRPO, Aba is a member of the "Daulah Islamiyah" or the ISIS-linked Maute group. He has also reportedly admitted being a former member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
