MRT3 to file separate charges vs. Chinese woman who splashed cop with taho

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3) will be filing a complaint against the Chinese national who threw a cup of taho at a security officer after she was barred from entering the rail line.

According to a report on GMA News' "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, officials of the MRT3 are now looking at filing charges against Jiale Zhang to have her declared as an undesirable alien, and deported.

Zhang was caught on CCTV footage throwing a cup of taho at Police Officer I William Cristobal who stopped her from entering the Boni Station due to the MRT3's ban on liquids.

Cristobal was reported to have explained to Zhang the policy on liquid substances inside the station, but Zhang, in a fit of anger, splashed the cup at the officer.

Given this, Zhang will no longer be allowed to enter any station of the MRT3 moving forward.

"It's a form of disrespect, at isa, hindi magandang example 'yun sa ating mga mananakay. 'Yung pagdadala ng pagkain sa MRT3, bawal talaga 'yun," said Goddess Hope Libiran, Assistant Secretary for Communications of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

The Bureau of Immigration (BI), for its part, earlier said it is looking into the possible actions to be taken against Zhang. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
