PDEA on slain party drug dealer’s celeb client: ‘Malaki ito. You see him everyday’

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is already building up a case against a "big celebrity" alleged to have regularly bought party drugs from slain alleged dealer Steve Passion.

“Itong isang celebrity na ito e bumiibili ng drugs sa kanya. Ang last nabili niya is about 200 pieces ng ecstasy,” PDEA director general Aaron Aquino said in his interview on Dobol B sa News TV.

PDEA agents linked the still unnamed celebrity to Pasion after they obtained the drug dealer’s cellphone containing an exchange of messages between the two.

In one of the messages, the celebrity asked Pasion if there was an available supply of the illegal drug, Aquino said. But the PDEA official admitted that a text message is still not enough evidence to pin down the celebrity.

"Sa cellphone na ito, nakita namin yung litrato nila, these mga celebrity,” he said.

Pasion, who was allegedly a big-time party drugs supplier in Metro Manila, was killed after resisting arrest during an operation at the parking lot of his residence in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Tuesday.

Before the operation against Pasion, Aquino said the celebrity’s name has also surfaced in their past operation against drug dealers.

“So far, sa mga huli namin sa bigtime drug traders parang lumabas na yung pangalan niya three times already,” he said.

For now, Aquino cannot divulge information about the identity of the celebrity, but gave a hint about the celebrity’s career status and current project. Aquino also inadvertently revealed the sex of the celebrity.

“Malaki ito. You can see him everyday,” Aquino said. — Joviland Rita/MDM, GMA News
