Quirino Bridge 2 reopened to motorists

The Quirino Bridge 2 or the Concordia Bridge in Quirino Highway in Paco, Manila, will be opened Thursday, April 11, to motorists, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In an Unang Balita report by Darlene Cay, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the flow of traffic along the cities of Manila, Pasay as well as Quezon would improve following the opening of the portion of the bridge.

""Natutuwa naman ako at mabubuksan na itong Concordia Bridge... Ang daily foot traffic ng Quirino Bridge is 100,000 vehicles a day so napakalaking bagay at tiniming din namin dahil malapit na po ang Holy Week at magkakaroon na po ng traffic kaya tamang tama lang po ang opening ng Concordia Bridge. Marami po ang makikinabang," Villar said.

A portion of Quezon Bridge 2 was closed in 2018 to give way to the construction of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project.

The southbound lane of the bridge was closed in May last year for its reconstruction.
