1-year-old baby allegedly raped, found dead inside Makati building

A one-year-old baby who was allegedly raped was found dead inside an abandoned building in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City on Wednesday.

Based on initial investigation, the victim was found by witness Genelyn Lopez inside Building 143 along Yakal Street.

Lopez claimed the victim was last seen with suspect Gerald Riparip, a laborer, at around 8 p.m. of Tuesday.

Hours after that, residents started looking for the baby.

He was then found lying behind a large piece of wood inside the building.

Those who found him immediately brought him to Sta. Ana Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

His body was examined and it was found out that there was a sperm cell inside the anus of the victim and that it was already "deteriorated."

It was also discovered that the victim's body had several hematoma.

It was still unclear how the suspect is related to the victim.

Reparip was later arrested after authorities found that his underwear has several blood stains.

He was initially held for questioning where he had narrated that he was drunk and could not remember what really happened. —KG, GMA News
