MMDA suspends PUV number coding for Monday due to transport strike
The Metro Manila Development Authority has suspended number coding for public utility vehicles (PUVs) on Monday, September 30, 2019, in view of the planned strike by various transport groups, in protest to the PUV modernization program.
MMDA clarified the lifting of the number coding for Monday will only cover PUVs.
At least two major transport groups have announced participation —the PISTON and Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO).
To help commuters that are likely to be affected by the strike, the MMDA has decided to lift the coding for PUVs.
MMDA ADVISORY: In view of the scheduled strike by some transport groups and to help commuters, MMDA suspends the UVVRP or number coding scheme tomorrow (Monday, September 30,2019) for all Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) only. |via @MMDA
