Manila to grant P800 birthday gift to senior citizens

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday signed an ordinance granting P800 birthday gift to the city's senior citizens.

Under City Ordinance 8570, all senior citizens in Manila will be granted P800 "in cash or in kind or a combination thereof" every year.

The ordinance also ordered the city government to appropriate funds for the gift every year.

"This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval and after publication in the newspaper of general circulation which appropriation shall be included in the Calendar Year 2020 Executive Budget thereafter," the ordinance said. —KBK, GMA News
