The fire broke out at 12:20 a.m.
Firemen raised the alarm to Task Force Bravo at 2:25 a.m., summoning fire officers from other districts in Metro Manila to the site.
The fire was placed under control two hours later at 4:30 a.m.
No one was hurt in the fire, the BFP said.
Pasay City Fire Marshal Superintendent Paul Pili said based on initial investigation, the fire started from the stockroom at the back.
The said room was where stuffed toys, textile and other light materials were kept.
However, the Bureau of Fire Protection is investigating if the fire also started from other parts of the park and if these fires sparked at the same time.
The fire quickly spread and covered a wide area.
The BFP is also probing if the fire was caused by electrical problem or arson.
Lisa Macuja, wife of Fred Elizalde, owner of Elizalde Group of Companies which owns Star City, showed authorities a tweet posted by a netizen saying "Star City will die soon."
Atty. Rudolph Juralbay, spokesperson of Elizalde Group of Companies, said operations of MBC's radio station dzRH were disrupted but they will try to have it back on air in 48 hours or earlier. MBC's FM stations meanwhile continue broadcasting from their Ortigas Center station.
Star City, meanwhile, will remain closed until October 2020 as it will take awhile to import the amusement rides.
Tenants with stalls inside the amusement park were concerned about their wares especially with Christmas coming soon. —Jonathan Andal/KG, GMA News
