MPD announces road closures for Bar Exams 2019, will deploy 600 cops


The Manila Police District (MPD) on Saturday released information on the roads that will be closed for the Bar Exams this month.

The roads surrounding University of Santo Tomas, the Bar Exams venue, namely, P. Noval Street, Dapitan Street, A.H. Lacson Avenue and España Boulevard will be on stop and go traffic situation from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. onwards on November 3, 10 and 17.

These areas will also be no-parking zones on those dates.

The MPD said 600 police officers will be deployed around UST on the dates of the exams for security operations, anti-criminality operations, emergency preparedness and crisis response.

More or less 8,000 examinees are expected to take the Bar Exams this month, the MPD said.

The MPD added the Supreme Court has requested the Manila city government to ensure tighter security, make available ambulances and first responders, and implement the liquor ban on business establishments near UST.

An Advance Command Post (ACP) and emergency lane will be put up by the MPD in the area.

MPD director Police Brigadier General Bernabe Balba gave the assurance that security will be stepped up to ensure a conducive environment for examinees during the Bar Exams. —KG, GMA News
