Caloocan councilor Malapitan tested positive for COVID-19

Caloocan City councilor Enteng Malapitan on Monday confirmed he has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post, Enteng, the son of Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan, said he and his family are currently under quarantine and are in stable condition.

Enteng said his father Oscar and his brother, councilor Along, are in good health.

Prior to getting tested for COVID-19, Enteng said he already practiced social distancing.

However, he still asked those who have been in contact with him since March 15 to undergo self-quarantine as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the virus.

Caloocan has 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including seven deaths and four recoveries, as of March 29.

Meanwhile, there are 334 persons under monitoring and 177 persons under investigation in the city.
