Quezon City gov't reports 1,312 COVID-19 cases


The Quezon City government on Friday reported that based on information from the Department of Health there are 1,312 persons who tested positive for the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the city.

The total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses is now at 1,152 while the number of cases validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices is 994.

As of May 1, 2020, there are 623 active COVID-19 cases in the city.

The number of recoveries has risen to 242 with 13 new cases reported on Friday. The death toll, meanwhile, is 129.

Quarantine facility

The HOPE 1 quarantine facility has 7 available rooms for COVID-19 confirmed and suspected patients.

At the HOPE 2 quarantine facility, 122 rooms/beds are used by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 162 beds are available.

There is no report on the update on community-based testing that were conducted in the city’s community-based testing centers, local government hospitals and by the QCESU.

Quarantine violators

There are more violators on Thursday compared to the previous day with 47 residents apprehended for violating the enhanced community quarantine protocols. On Wednesday, 30 residents were listed as violators. -- BAP, GMA News
