Over 100 locals arrested on first day of Tondo district hard lockdown

More than 100 residents were apprehended by authorities for violating the hard lockdown imposed on Manila's Tondo District 1.

According to Vonne Aquino's Sunday report on 24 Oras, arrested minors and persons with disability were escorted back home, while the homeless were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Amid the 48-hour hard lockdown on the district, the targeted mass testing in four schools continued.

Individuals who test positive would be isolated in the Delpan quarantine facility.

Tondo District 1 in Manila was placed on 48-hour hard lockdown at 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, as ordered by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

The hard lockdown will end on Tuesday, May 5, at 5 a.m.
