QC market locked down after fish vendor tests positive for COVID-19

After a fish vendor tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Frisco Market in Quezon City was placed under lockdown on Monday.

According to Allan Gatus' report on Dobol B sa News TV, some residents said the fish vendor also worked at the National Center for Mental Health.

Initially, the lockdown was supposed to be in effect until Friday.

But in a Facebook post, officials of Barangay Damayan, where the market is located, announced that the Frisco Market would be opened on Wednesday after a disinfection procedure.

Also, it was initially announced that nearby Barangays Damayan, Mariblo, Paraiso, and Del Monte would be placed under an extreme enhanced community quarantine from Wednesday until Friday.

But in it's Monday announcement, Barangay Damayan officials said the extreme measures would not push through on Wednesday.

As of Sunday, Quezon City had 1,524 COVID-19 cases with 133 fatalities and 348 recoveries.
