Ospital ng Tondo closed until May 24

Ospital ng Tondo in Manila will be closed from May 11 to May 24 as it undergoes cleaning and disinfection procedures in preparation for handling COVID-19 patients.

“Closure will be for terminal cleaning and disinfection, pest control, and rearrangement of the facility to address possible COVID-19 patients in the future,” the health facility said in a statement.

Patients, the hospital said, will be directed to other City District Hospitals and nearby institutions.

“Our Medical and Nursing Staff will reinforce the frontliners of Sta. Ana Hospital, our Manila Infectious Disease Control Center (MIDCC),” the health facility said.

Despite the two-week temporary closure, the hospital said Radiologic and Laboratory section of the facility will accept referrals from Manila Health Department and City Hospitals during office hours.

As of Monday, Manila has 912 COVID-19 cases with 84 fatalities and 142 recoveries. --Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
