Quezon City gov't reports 1,832 COVID-19 cases


The Quezon City government on Monday reported that, based on information from  the Department of Health, the total number of confirmed cases in the city is 1,832.

The total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is now at 1,663 while the total number of cases validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices is 1,484.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the city has reached 747.

As of May 18, 2020 at 7 p.m. the local government reported 110 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 576.

There are 14 new deaths reported on Monday, bringing the total number of deaths to 161.

Quarantine facility

The HOPE 1 quarantine facility has 6 available rooms for COVID-19 confirmed and suspected patients.  There are 29 confirmed patients and 6 suspected patients in HOPE 1 facility.

At the HOPE 2 quarantine facility, 167 rooms/beds are occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 127 beds are available. Those who have been tested in QC’s community-based testing are brought in HOPE 2 for self-isolation while waiting for their results.

The HOPE 3 Facility houses 27 confirmed patients.

Mass testing

A total of 412 tests were conducted in testing centers in all three local government hospitals, and by the QCESU.

The Quezon City government has also announced that 20 areas are under special concern lockdown starting May 13, 2020.

Social Amelioration Program
 

The local government has announced unclaimed and replacement SAP can be processed on Tuesday, May 19 in the following areas: Bahay Toro, Nayong Kanluran, Pag-ibig sa Ngayon, Ramon Magsaysay, San Antonio, Veterans Village, Holy Spirit, Masagana, San Roque, Dioquino Zobel, Loyola Heights, St. Ignatius, Villa Maria Clara, West Kamias, Horseshoe, Mariana, Old Capitol, Roxas, San Martin de Porres, San Vicente, Tatalon, Bagbag, Greater Lagro, Novaliches Proper, Pasong Putik, Culiat, Sangandaan, and Balon Bato. -- BAP, GMA News
