Some 700 construction workers who have been locked up in their barracks along Macapagal Avenue in Parañaque City are appealing to the government to allow them go home to their respective provinces.
They said they have been stranded since Metro Manila was placed under enhanced
community quarantine beginning mid-March to stem the further spread of COVID-19.
Also, they said that while their construction firms have been providing their daily essential needs, they are anxious about their families in the provinces, and that they are missing them.
Since May 16, Metro Manila has been placed to a more relaxed modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), under which non-essential movements are still prohibited. —with a report from Danny Pata/LBG, GMA News
