Recto shop found churning fake IATF IDs raided by cops


Manila policemen on Monday raided a shop on Recto Avenue in Sampaloc, Manila for allegedly manufacturing fake Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) identification cards.

Police said 32-year-old Johnny Perez Jr., a computer artist, was arrested during the operation as well as six other individuals allegedly engaged in the production of fake IATF IDs that are being used to pass through quarantine control points.

Seized during the operation were a printer, computer monitor, CPU, scanner, a laminating machine, ID cutter, and a sample of fake IATF IDs.

The suspects were brought to Tondo Medical Center for medico-legal examinations. They were later transferred to the Sampaloc Police Station.

The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Art. 172 of the Revised Penal Code or the Falsification by private individual and use of falsified documents in relation to Bayanihan To Heal as One Act. -NB, GMA News
