2 COVID-19 patients who escaped from Delpan facility already located -MPD chief

Authorities have located the two confirmed COVID-19 patients who escaped from the Delpan quarantine facility in Manila, the chief of Manila Police District confirmed on Tuesday.

Initial information from MPD chief Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda said the individuals were found in Sta. Ana area.

"Nirereport na ng operatiba ko na nakuha na 'yung pinapa-manhunt na dalawang tao..." Miranda told GMA News Online.

Miranda said the two individuals were confirmed positive for the disease after having a swab test last May 14.

The MPD chief said the patients would be brought back to the quarantine facility.

Authorities will determine the charges which will be filed against the individuals, Miranda said.

In a separate virtual press briefing, Miranda said authorities are already conducting contact tracing to determine who had direct contact with the two individuals during the hours that they were outside of the facility.

Miranda also said the policemen who found the two confirmed cases would be isolated.

"'Yung 15 pulis natin na nakakuha sa kanila ay sineparate din po natin sila. I-quarantine natin sila," Miranda said.
