151 foreign nationals allegedly involved in illegal gaming ops nabbed in QC


A total of 151 foreign nationals allegedly involved in non-registered offshore gaming operations were nabbed in Quezon City on Tuesday night.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Wednesday said the operation was conducted at 32 Pineda Building on Scout Lazcano in Barangay Laging Handa. Police had received information about illegal offshore gaming operations in the area.

“Amid the implementation of the general community quarantine in the metro, most establishments related to the delivery of basic services were permitted to operate. But it does not include the operation of such unregistered business. Let us all cooperate and work together to fight this unseen enemy,” NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas said in a press release.

Initial information stated that the suspects, which include 133 males and 18 females, did not secure business permit from local officials to operate. Police did not specify the nationalities of the suspects.

Seized during the operation were the following:

  • 2,012 pieces of assorted cellphones;
  • 149 pieces of computer monitors;
  • 90 pieces of computer mouse;
  • 72 pieces of computer keyboards;
  • 49 pieces of flash drives;
  • 34 pieces of CPUs;
  • 19 laptops;
  • 2 printers;
  • Apple iPad;
  • 20 extension wires;
  • WiFi;
  • Telephone;
  • 3 boxes of assorted cable wires;
  • 2 passports;
  • A bag of assorted IDs;
  • 15 uninterrupted power supplies;
  • 116 foreign currencies;
  • Cash worth P213,880;
  • 10 router modems; and
  • A box of one-time passwords

The arrested suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City for documentation and proper disposition. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
