Man stabs dead his 88-yr-old dad in QC allegedly over inheritance

A man in Quezon City was arrested after stabbing his 88-year-old father to death allegedly over inheritance issues.

A report on 24 Oras quoted authorities as identifying the suspect as Armelito Alvis, 65, and the victim, his father Roberto Alvis, both from Barangay Del Monte.

The Quezon City police said the victim, who was attacked inside his room, sustained stab wounds in his head. The suspect was shot in his left arm during the arrest.

The suspect's brother said Armelito and their father are not in good terms.

"Hindi kasi sila magkasundo. Iyong kuya ko iba takbo ng isip. Hindi naman siya nagda-drugs ngayon," said Arman, but admitted his brother used to be into drugs in the past.

Barangay Councilor Conrado Lalu said prior to the incident, the father and son had fought over the latter's inheritance.

"Kumukuha pa siya ng another part ng mana para sa magulang niya eh wala nang maibibigay iyong magulang siguro. Eh nagalit siya sa magulang. Ayon ang pinagdiskitahan niya ng galit niya," said Lalu.

The suspect is being treated at the Quezon City General Hospital and was tested for COVID-19. Results have yet to come out.

The suspect will be facing a parricide charge. -MDM, GMA News
