Cebu Pacific plane bound for Cotabato turns back after technical problem


An aircraft of Cebu Pacific Air bound for Cotabato turned back and landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday morning after it had a technical problem.

According to GMA News stringer Ariel Fernandez’s report on Dobol B sa News TV, Cebgo Flight BJ 6974 took off at about 11:20 a.m. but returned a few minutes after due to a glitch in the GPS system.

The Manila International Airport Authority emergency fire department reported that the flight landed safely at about 11:52 a.m.

Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific clarified in a text to GMA News Online that the flight only carried cargo.

It added that the problem has already been resolved and the flight is currently waiting for a pushback. —Ma. Angelica Garcia and Ted Cordero/KG, GMA News
