NCRPO: Over P2M worth of suspected shabu seized in Novaliches


More than two million worth of suspected shabu was seized during a buy-bust operation in Novaliches, Quezon City on Monday night.

According to the National Capital Region Police Office on Tuesday, a drug suspect identified as one 29-year-old Randy "Richie" Torres was arrested in the operation.

A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and transacted with the suspect in front of a mall along QH Barangay Nova Proper.

Police confiscated three pieces of plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P2,040,000, a black plastic labeled "Ninja," a P500, some boodle money, and a cellular phone from the suspect, who tried to resist arrest.

Authorities also found out that the suspect had a previous case of robbery-snatching in 2015 before the Bulacan Provincial Trial Court.

The suspect is currently at the PS-4 custodial facility for investigation and proper disposition pending the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Sec 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 as well as Resisting Arrest. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
