‘COVID CASES DOWN DUE TO BAYANIHAN’

Nearly 98% recovery rate reported in Taguig, mayor says

The city government of Taguig City on Thursday announced that nearly 98% has already recovered from COVID-19.

According to Mayor Lino Cayetano, the number of COVID-19 cases in the city is at 8,608, with a total recoveries of 8,394.

Our active cases is only 1.75%, 'yan ay 151 cases.

Aside from the efforts of the local government, Cayetano further attributed the continuous decline of COVID-19 cases to the "bayanihan" spirit among Taguig City residents.

He also said the city's fatality rate is at 0.73%, which is lower than the case fatality rate of the entire Metro Manila.

Cayetano added that the case doubling time, the period it takes for COVID-19 cases to double, is at 17 days.

Earlier, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. announced that the COVID-19 cases in the entire Metro Manila continues to decline. — RSJ, GMA News
