DOTr suspends EDSA busway consortium operations due to Rolly

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced Sunday the suspension of the EDSA busway consortium  operations starting 1 p.m. due to Super Typhoon Rolly.

“Due to the inclement weather, and considering that the National Capital Region (NCR) is under typhoon signal no. 4, the EDSA busway consortium will suspend their operations at 1:00PM today,” the DOTr said in an advisory.

Earlier, the operations of Metro Rail Transit Line 3, Light Rail Transit Line 2, and LRT Line 1 have also been suspended since PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 over Metro Manila on Sunday morning.

State weather bureau PAGASA earlier said Rolly will move toward the Marinduque-Southern Quezon area in the afternoon. Then, it will traverse the Batangas-Cavite area through the evening.

The typhoon will leave the mainland Luzon landmass and emerge over the Philippine Sea between Sunday afternoon and Monday early morning.

Earlier, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said between 19 to 31 million people could be affected by Rolly.—AOL, GMA News
