DESPITE ‘ROTATIONAL’ INTERRUPTIONS

Maynilad customers go through 4 days without water service

Customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. at a Quezon City barangay have gone through four days straight without any water supply despite the announced rotational interruptions from November 18 to 24, 2020.

Barangay Paltok Residents lined up for their water ration following days without supply, according to a 24 Oras report by Jun Veneracion on Friday.

Legal 'yung tubig namin, nagbabayad kami. Apat na araw. Kayo ang lumagay sa puwesto namin," said resident Emily Ayate.

"Mali-mali 'yung information na binibigay nila sa Facebook nila kasi sabi nila 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. mawawala pero hanggang ngayon walang tubig talaga, kahit tulo man lang," said Grace Guibira.

On Matias Street, the concessionaire had only rationed water three times in the four days with residents doing without any water supply.

Residents' laundry have also piled up, and some were not able to clean their kitchens and bathrooms.

Firefighters had also attempted to provide locals with water.

Customers of Maynilad in high-lying areas can expect longer service interruptions than earlier scheduled, as the concessionaire said the sustained inflow of turbid water from the Ipo Dam prevents it from reaching target levels. — Jamil Santos/DVM, GMA News
