Suspect who allegedly sold nude photos of students nabbed in Manila

Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation-Cybercrime Division on Saturday arrested a man in Tayuman, Manila who peddled nude photos of students by using his Facebook account.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” the suspect, identified as Bonifacio Cordero, struggled against the authorities, but the NBI agents eventually overwhelmed him.

“Nu’ng umpisa, nag pro-provide lang ng mga photos. Tapos up to the point na meron nang physical meet-up. ‘Yun nga ang actual danger,” NBI Cybercrime Division chief Head Agent Vic Lorenzo said.

The NBI discovered several photos and profiles of various women used by the suspect in his operations.

Authorities also rescued an 18-year-old woman who has been trafficked by the suspect over 20 times.

“Ipo-post niya po sa social media po na, ano, 18-years-old, available, tapos nakasulat po doon ‘yung gagawin po,” Anna, not her real name, said.

“If they could convince ‘yung mga minors natin, studyante natin, to provide ‘yung mga photos na ‘yon. They could easily convince them doon sa actual na meet-up,” Lorenzo said.

The suspect did not deny the accusation.

“Hindi naman po kasi kagustuhan ‘yun gawin. Hindi naman po namin gagawin ‘yung ganoon kung hindi naman nila gusto. Willing po ako magbago,” the suspect said.

He is facing charges for violation of the Anti-human trafficking law. — DVM, GMA News
