3-year-old boy, senior citizen couple test positive for UK virus variant in Malabon

Three cases of the UK coronavirus variant were recorded in Malabon City, its public information officer said on Tuesday.

In a Super Radyo DZBB interview, Malabon City PIO Bong Padua cited reports from the Department of Health (DOH) and their health officer that a three-year-old boy and a senior citizen couple tested positive for the UK variant virus.

Padua said the child is in Barangay Maysilo while the couple is in Barangay Concepcion.

Padua, citing the report from their health officer, said the child's father also tested positive for COVID-19 several weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the senior citizen couple said they went to Subic.

Padua said as of Monday, Malabon City has more than 530 COVID-19 cases as they observed an increase in the number of cases in their area.
