Makati's COVID-19 beds already full, says Abby Binay

Hospital beds for COVID-19 patients in Makati City are already full, Mayor Abigail Binay has said.

Binay said Makati also observed a rising number of COVID-19 cases over the past few weeks just like other cities in Metro Manila.

“This is not peculiar to just my neighbors but also Makati has seen a rise in number as early as two weeks ago,” Binay said on ANC.

“In fact our bed occupancy is already at 100 percent as early as last week,” she added.

To increase the number of beds for COVID-19 patients, Binay said the city had to hire more nurses and doctors.

Makati City still has at least 842 active cases, according to Binay.

A higher percentage of the COVID-19 cases in the city are usually people who go to the provinces, she added. -Joviland Rita/NB, GMA News
