12 MRT-3 tellers, cash assistant test positive for COVID-19

Twelve tellers and a cash assistant of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) have tested positive for COVID-19, the Department of Transportation said Monday.

In a statement, the DOTr said the 12 tellers were assigned at the Santolan, Ortigas, and Cubao stations.

The DOTr said these personnel have been isolated since being identified via contact tracing and all are now in quarantine.

The DOTr also said 114 stations personnel who were all close contacts of the positive personnel have not been permitted to work and have been placed under quarantine while waiting for their swab test results.

“The MRT-3 management assures the safety of our passengers as we get ready to temporarily suspend operations starting tomorrow, March 30, until April 4, 2021, to give way to the scheduled annual Holy Week maintenance shutdown.”

“In addition to repairs and maintenance works at our stations and trains, the Holy Week maintenance shutdown will also be utilized to perform COVID-19 swab tests on all exposed personnel. This will ensure readiness of our personnel to resume operations and to serve the riding public as scheduled on Monday, April 5,” it added. --NB, GMA News
