Valenzuela, Muntinlupa mayors vaccinated vs. COVID-19

Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian and Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi were vaccinated against COVID-19, which has already infected 819,164 people in the Philippines as of latest count.

On Twitter, Gatchalian announced that he was inoculated with CoronoVac, a vaccine created by China'a biotech firm Sinovac. The Food and Drug Administration recently approved the vaccine for senior citizens

"Got my SINOVAC jab this morning. Thanks to Doc. Ceneta and the VC Vax team!!!" the Valenzuela mayor wrote on Thursday.

He also encouraged their residents to get registered for the local immunization program through their website, http://valtrace.appcase.net.

Gatchalian said the city will also begin the vaccination of people with comorbidity, followed by senior citizens.

In a Facebook post, the Muntinlupa government said Fresnedi, who is a senior citizen, got his first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine.
