Gubat sa Ciudad swimming has barangay chairman facing admin rap


The health and business officials of Caloocan City have filed an administrative complaint against the chairman of Barangay 171 after dozens of guests flocked to a swimming pool resort in his community.

Swimming pools are not supposed to operate under the modified enhanced community quarantine imposed on the NCR Plus area.

City Health Officer Evelyn Cuevas amd Business Permit and Licensing Office head Emmanuel Emilio Vergara the administrative complaint against Barangay 171 chairman Romero Rivera for gross neglect of duty or dereliction of duty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.

They also recommended that Rivera be suspended for at least 60 days.

 

 

 

 

This developed after scores of individuals — including children who are not allowed outside under the current community quarantine — swimming at the pools of the Gubat sa Ciudad resort last week.

The video footage went viral.

Cuevas and Vergara said that the guests violated social distancing measures and were not wearing face masks and face shields.

Citing the records submitted by the resort manager, the complainants said there were around 500 registered guests at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan has ordered the closure of the report. —NB, GMA News
