Taguig LGU distributes food packs ahead of ECQ, urges residents to get vaccinated
The local government of Taguig has started distributing stay-at-home food packs to the residents to help them during the enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.
Each food pack contains rice, canned goods, coffee, energy drinks, and instant noodles, which are all good for consumption for three to four days.
“We guarantee you that the needs of every family will be taken care of. We will make sure that assistance from both local and national government will be distributed to Taguigeños,” Mayor Lino Cayetano said in a press release Thursday.
“We are ready and we will always take care of each other in Taguig," he added.
Cayetano also urged unvaccinated Taguig residents to take the opportunity to avail of the city's free vaccination during the ECQ from August 6 to 20.
“Our vaccination sites are open and our frontliners are ready to accommodate you. I would like to ask for your cooperation, please register to TRACE and get vaccinated,” he said.
The entire National Capital Region will be under a two-week ECQ to curb the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant. Only essential workers are allowed to go out during this strictest form of quarantine.—Anna Felicia Bajo/AOL, GMA News
