2 nabbed for alleged manufacture, sale of fake vaccination cards, negative swab results

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said it has arrested two suspects in Quiapo, Manila for alleged manufacture and sale of fake vaccination cards and negative COVID-19 swab test results.

In a statement, the PNP said the Manila Police District (MPD) conducted a raid after receiving a report about a shop allegedly selling these fake documents.

The operation resulted in the arrest of suspects identified as Jimmy Santisima and Edito Parr.

Operatives discovered the computers allegedly used to forge the documents and the template allegedly for the fake swab test results supposedly from San Lazaro Hospital.

They also found vaccination cards allegedly from Pasay City.

Some fake dry seals of universities and government agencies were also found in the area. The suspects were also allegedly producing fake birth certificates and marriage contracts.

The PNP said the suspects were taken to the MPD headquarters and are now facing appropriate criminal charges.

Meanwhile, the MPD continues to hunt for other perpetrators.

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar lauded the MPD for the operation.

According to him, he is expecting that the police will also hunt those who are patronizing these fake documents.

“Inaasahan ko ang patuloy na agresibong kampanya ng ating kapulisan hindi lamang laban sa mga taong gumagawa at nagbebenta ng mga pekeng vaccination cards at RT-PCR kundi pati na rin sa mga taong bumibili at gumagamit ng mga ito,” he said.
