PNP: Over 216,000 violators recorded amid Alert Level 4 in NCR

A total of 216,565 violators have been recorded since the implementation of Alert Level 4 in the National Capital Region as of Tuesday, the Philippine National Police said Wednesday.

In an update, the PNP said 8,706 violators were newly reported.

An average of 10,940 violators was recorded daily from September 16 to October 5.

The PNP said around 53% of the violators were warned, 41% were fined, while 6% faced other sanctions.

A total of 53,302 violators, with a daily average of 7,665, have violated the minimum public health standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

For curfew, a total of 60,849 violators or 3,042 daily were recorded.

A total of 2,414 who are not considered authorized persons outside residence (APORs) were also caught outdoors.

NCR is under Alert Level 4 as part of the pilot testing of the implementation of the new five-level alert system, which started on September 16.

Areas under Alert Level 4 — the second highest alert level — are those with infections that are high or increasing while total beds and ICU beds are at high utilization rate.

Outdoor or al fresco dining is allowed at a maximum of 30% venue/seating capacity regardless of vaccination status of customers.

Indoor dine-in services are also allowed at a limited 10% venue/seating capacity but will cater only to individuals fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Curfew has also been set at 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
