NCR to impose shorter curfew 12 midnight - 4 a.m. starting October 13, 2021 — MMC’s Olivarez


The National Capital Region will impose a shorter curfew between 12 midnight to 4 a.m. starting October 13, Wednesday, Metro Manila Council head and Paranaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez said Tuesday.

“Yes (there will be adjustment in the curfew), 12 midnight to 4 a.m. starting October 13,” he told GMA News Online in a text message.

During President Rodrigo Duterte’s public address aired Tuesday, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Benhur Abalos said the number of COVID-19 cases has gone down since the implementation of the Alert Level 4.

“Noong September 16, ang kaso ng active cases ay 38,471. Ngayon po ay mababa sa kalahati. Ang 38,000 naging 17,296 na lang,” he said.

(On September 16, the number of active cases was 38,471. Now it has dropped to less than half. The 38,000 cases became 17,297 only)

He added that the reproduction rate in the NCR also improved, from 1.25 on September 16 to 0.61 on October 8.

The two-week growth rate also plunged from 24.33% on September 16 to -41.84 on October 9.

Aside from this, Abalos said the occupancy of isolation facilities was recorded at 72% on September 15 but improved to 42% on October 10.

The occupancy of the temporary treatment and monitoring facilities also dropped from 68% to 32%, according to Abalos. — RSJ, GMA News
