6 persons nabbed over fake vaccination cards, documents in Recto Avenue

Six individuals were arrested for creating fake vaccination cards and documents in their hidden shop in Recto Avenue, Manila.

Authorities from the District Special Operation Unit - Northern Police District (DSOU-NPD) arrested the suspects in an entrapment operation in a shop located along Recto Avenue on Wednesday.

“Medyo naniniguro sila kasi yung mga runner nila na nakuha natin is almost five bago pa natin nakuha yung mismong may ari,” P/Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal, chief DSOU-NPD, said in Marisol Abdurahman's report on “Saksi” on Thursday.

(They are making sure because we caught almost five runners before we caught the owner.)

Seized from the suspects were fake documents including vaccination cards and RT PCR test results.

“Yung isang employer na umano pinag aaplayan ng taong ito pinapa-validate yung authenticity nung vaccination card through social media nagkaroon ng transaksyon at kahapon ginawa yung entrapment operation,” Police Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., district director of the NPD, said.

(The employer validated the authenticity of the vaccination card of the applicant and through social media they had a transaction and yesterday they did the entrapment operation.)

The arrested suspects denied the allegations and claimed that they did not know there were fake documents in the area.

“Hindi po namin alam na may pagawaan po pala dyan,” one of the suspects said.

(We did not know there was a place for creating fake documents there.)

The suspects will face appropriate charges, said authorities. -- Richa Noriega/BAP, GMA News
