Comelec: Voter registration suspended Oct. 31 to Nov. 2
The voter registration for the 2016 elections will be suspended during the Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days), the Commission on Elections said Thursday.
Comelec spokesman James Jimenez tweeted the voter registration is suspended from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2
However, he said the iRehistro website (http://irehistro.com/) will still allow people to fill up registration forms online. The registration runs until Oct. 31, 2015.

Last May 6, the voters' registration for the May 2016 national and local elections started with balloons and a walk.
Jimenez said Comelec offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing only on Friday or Saturday.
The Comelec intensified its invitation to voters to register for the 2016 polls. Some 9.6 million registered voters have no biometric records while some 3 million new registrants are expected to sign up.
Jimenez had also urged first-time voters and previously registered voters to have their biometrics taken early.
He added that work will no longer be a hindrance since Comelec will also have their offices open on Sundays to accommodate more registrants. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
